Rules, controls and help for Russian Solitaire
Start Russian Solitaire by looking at the playing area and its controls. Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Use the example below to understand a decision.
Yukon-style deal, same-suit building, no stock. Free solo play, no wagering.
Build familiarity through play
Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use. Use the example to check your reasoning.
What counts as success
Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Try to explain the aim in your own words.
From the start of a round
- Move any face-up card and its tail onto the next higher rank of the same suit. Kings fill empty columns.
- Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
- Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
- Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.
How to use the controls
Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. A new-round button replaces the current round.
Try this example
A heart 6 fits a heart 7, not a spade 7. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Notice the change in the playing area.
Check this before moving on
Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Check the rule before repeating the action. After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again.
