An introduction to playing Pyramid Solitaire

Try Pyramid Solitaire at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Look at what changes after your first action. Read the objective before making your first input. Look at what changes after your first action.

Pyramid, stock and waste; one stock recycle. Free solo play, no wagering.

Practice beyond the first move

Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart. Make the next step deliberately.

Your goal

Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Try to explain the aim in your own words.

Making your moves

  1. Only uncovered cards are selectable. Pairs total 13; a king removes alone.
  2. Click an exposed card or eligible pair to remove it.
  3. Draw when useful.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Making selections and moves

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Contact us with the game and device if a control does not respond.

An example before you play

An exposed queen pairs with an ace; a jack pairs with a 2. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Look for the relevant detail.

A mistake to avoid

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal.
