Learn the rules of Arrow Sudoku

Open Arrow Sudoku, check the instructions and begin a round. Solve the Sudoku and make the digits on each arrow path sum to the digit in its circle. Use the example below to understand a decision. Use the opening round to become familiar with the layout. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

This collection contains 8 puzzles. Progress is saved in this browser. The same puzzle can appear again; the collection is not labelled with calibrated difficulty levels.

Something to practise

Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Use the example to check your reasoning.

The goal to keep in mind

Solve the Sudoku and make the digits on each arrow path sum to the digit in its circle. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Try to explain the aim in your own words.

The order of play

  1. Select an editable cell.
  2. Enter a value using the keypad or keyboard; Notes stores candidates.
  3. Read the region, cage, arrow or outside clues alongside the normal constraints.
  4. Check entries verifies the completed board; Undo reverses your last input.
  5. New puzzle selects another included puzzle.

Keyboard and screen controls

Click or tap cells and the digit pad. Use Notes, Undo and Reveal selected. Large boards scroll inside the game. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Avoid pressing the same control repeatedly while a move is being processed.

An example to follow

A circle 7 may have an arrow containing 3 and 4 when the normal Sudoku rules also allow it. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Check the stated objective.

Notice this detail

A full board must obey every extra rule. Reveal supplies assistance; it is not an earned deduction. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
