Dominoes: learn through an example

Make Dominoes your next activity in the game library. Empty your hand, or hold fewer pips when both players are blocked. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Use the opening round to become familiar with the layout. Look at what changes after your first action.

Double-six draw dominoes, local two players with shared-screen visible hands.

Take a closer look while playing

Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart. Notice the feedback after each input.

The purpose of your moves

Empty your hand, or hold fewer pips when both players are blocked. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Return to the instructions when a step is unclear.

Follow these playing steps

  1. Play a tile matching either open chain end.
  2. Choose which end to use.
  3. Draw only when no tile fits.
  4. Pass only with no legal tile and an empty stock.

How your actions work

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. Use the control method described here for this activity. Use the visible help when you are unsure of the next input.

Learn from a sample situation

An open 4 accepts 4–2, leaving 2 open. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Read the matching step again.

An important reminder

You cannot ignore a legal match to draw. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
